S.A.V.E.S Project ID
Introducing S.A.V.E.S Project ID, an advanced wearable solution designed with safety in mind. The program began with the concept of wearable medical ID QR code labels that provide critical information about an individual who may have wandered or eloped from a safe environment. As the program continues to evolve, S.A.V.E.S Project ID is expanding its capabilities by integrating advanced technology, including GPS tracking and drone support, to enhance search and recovery efforts. By combining accessible medical information with innovative location and aerial response tools, S.A.V.E.S Project ID strengthens our ability to quickly locate and safely reunite individuals with their caregivers.

Quick Identification
QR Code Technology
S.A.V.E.S Project ID is committed to supporting vulnerable individuals with cognitive or communication impairments by ensuring their personal information is accessible in emergencies. We utilize innovative QR code technology that enables responders to quickly access essential details such as name, birthday, address and phone number. This enhances safety and fosters peace of mind for those who need it most.
Registration
Contact your local police agency to ask about participating in the S.A.V.E.S Project. If your local department has not yet partnered with the program, you can reach out to our staff directly to register your interest. The S.A.V.E.S Project team will then contact your local agency to introduce the program and provide information about bringing these safety resources to your community.
What You Will Receive
Participants will be invited to complete voluntary questions that help provide important details about their vulnerable loved one, including personal information, medical information, and emergency contact details. Providing a recent photograph is also strongly recommended to assist with quick and accurate identification if needed. After submitting the information, you will receive a Welcome Packet that includes an "About Me" form, a blue envelope, window decal, QR code labels, and other important informational materials.
What To Do Next
Take the window decal from your Welcome Packet and display it on the vehicle of your vulnerable loved one, or on the vehicle they use most frequently. If an additional decal is needed, contact the S.A.V.E.S Project team. Place the QR code stickers on items your loved one uses regularly, and consider placing one on the refrigerator to ensure quick access to critical information in the event of a medical emergency at home.
Updating Information
Keeping information about your vulnerable loved one up to date with the S.A.V.E.S Project is essential. We recommend reviewing and updating details every 4–6 months. QR code stickers can be replaced if needed, while the QR code itself will remain the same for as long as the individual remains an active participant. Participation in the program can be canceled at any time.

I.R. Drone
Patches
The S.A.V.E.S. Project will utilize infrared (I.R.) detection patches as a simple yet powerful tool to help law enforcement quickly locate vulnerable individuals who have wandered or eloped. These lightweight, wearable patches can be easily attached to everyday clothing and are designed to enhance a person’s heat signature, making them more visible to infrared-equipped drones during search efforts.
When a person goes missing, first responders can deploy drone technology to scan large areas—even in darkness or low visibility—and rapidly identify the enhanced thermal signal emitted by the patch. This approach significantly reduces search time, increases the chances of a safe recovery, and provides families and caregivers with added peace of mind knowing their loved one has an additional layer of protection.

GPS Technology
The S.A.V.E.S. Project will leverage GPS technology to enhance the safety and rapid recovery of vulnerable individuals who may wander or elope from a designated safe area. By equipping individuals with discreet, wearable GPS-enabled devices—such as wristbands, shoe inserts, or clothing patches—caregivers and law enforcement can access real-time location data when a person is reported missing.
This technology allows for immediate tracking, significantly reducing search times and improving the chances of a safe return. In coordination with first responders, the S.A.V.E.S. Project can establish geofencing alerts that notify caregivers if an individual leaves a predetermined area, enabling swift intervention. By integrating GPS tracking into its approach, the S.A.V.E.S. Project provides an added layer of protection, peace of mind for families, and a proactive solution to support individuals at risk of wandering.
