About the event

The City of Rochester Police Department will hold its annual open house on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 400 Sixth Street. The free event will feature tours, demonstrations, and a number of other attractions.


Activities include tours of police facilities and vehicles, a weapons display and firearms safety presentation, evidence collection demonstrations, a driving simulator, free vision testing for kids, child safety seat inspections, child identification kits, a motorcycle skills course demonstration, and a K-9 demonstration with Officer James Penman and K-9 Maverick. Families can also take advantage of free bike safety inspections and free helmets for children, and kids who bring their bikes can participate in a bike safety rodeo. Parents are encouraged to check out an educational drug display highlighting current substances and paraphernalia to be aware of.
